Character designs now all done!!

I finally sat down and finished the last of my character designs..yays!! Ive shown them all to my tutor and theyve all been 'approved' so thats good. Heres Edward at 50 which im most impressed with. I think that next to Felicity they will match well. Also Edward at 25 and 5. Felicity at 5 i have had done for a while so dont know why she didn't go up earlier!!

Procrastination is a good thing??

So ive needed a break from working on my layout and instead found myself working on some ideas for the Sweet Shop and buildings in the town. The outsides have been inspired by Disneyland's Main Street, as there were some lovely buildings along it. Ive also done part of a set layout for Felicitys shop. My tutors suggested i change the name of the film to Sweet Hearts, but im undecided and think it would be a good name for the shop. So ive called her shop Sweet Hearts for now.

Younger Felicity

As ive decided what Felicitys dress will be like i thought id colour her in her younger turnarounds to...but then remembered her hair cant be gray so tried some different colours. i like the pale yellow and the redish one but i cant decide between any of them at the moment!!

It doesnt look like ive been up to much this month!

Well i havent posted in a while again. Mainly due to there not being anything to put up, and that i went away for a week. Weve had so many deadlines these few weeks for the story board and the first animatic. Theres been quite a few changes story wise and theyve been confusing me slightly. Im waiting to have time to draw up my storyboard nicely and currently am working on the layout which if its nice ill put it up here to. I have done a few more colour designs for Felicity. ive decided on the pink spot dress and the pink apron one.

Edward Face ideas

Today i sat and thought about what Edward is going to look like. As he is in the Navy I want him to be a uniform all the time, this will also help us know that its him when he ages. Again hopefully you can see the little ticks by the faces i like and plan to use at this stage. First we have Edward at 50 then 25 and 5 just like Felicity.

Playing with colour.

Ive not felt like doing that much work so far this week, bad i know but weve got a storyboard presentation to do this afternoon so ive been getting that ready!!

I like to play about a bit and make a mess with paper and glue and do some collage (hope thats spelt right!) now and again. The outcome as you can see is 2 lil Felicity's. i love the candy canes in her hair and the pink dress with lil bows on her shoes is my favorite out of the 2. This morning i thought id do some rough colour layouts for her to. I like the bright pink dress and the pale yellow dress ones the best at the moment. I think ill have to develop them 2 on a bit more.

Thats all for nows...hopefully have some more bits later in the week!

Felicity first turnarounds

The first 2 images are my first ideas for the overall look and shape of Felicity at 50 and 25. You can see the sketches under my turnaround that my tutor Kevin did when i showed him my first design. He suggested i gave her more 'Britannia' arms and legs but this changed the entire feel of Felicity, who i like as being a round character with little arms and legs.

The 3rd image is my second design for Felicity after talking to kevin. Ive made her arms and legs more fleshy rather than lil twigs and given her some proper shoes. Her silhouette is now more defined and has a better plump-ness to it. The forth image is a different design for her at age 25. This again is much cleaner and clearer but possibly a bit to young for 25.

These are my first face ideas for Felicity. In the animation we will see her at 3 different ages. 50, 25 and around 5. Hopefully you can see the small ticks next to the front and side views i like.

This is the blog for my 3rd year film ' The Smell Of Sherbet Lemons'. I will try to update it each week with what ive been working on.

A little over view of my idea so far...

Its about a little old sweet shop owner called Felicity who reminisces about her childhood sweetheart, Edward, though the sweets and things around her whist she makes up a sweet order for delivery.
